Dog clothing is popular with small dogs because it is cute and fashionable. However, the clothing will also help a dog stay warm if nature has not provided a thick winter coat. That is why sweaters and coats are popular on short haired and hairless canines.

Dog clothing is sold in many pet specialty stores. Some stores even offer custom creations for that special pet. Custom items allow a dog owner to spoil themselves and their pet, and people tend to enjoy doing both.
